Do you wish inspiration would hit you like a phone book?
...Hey, that's a great idea!
Look up businesses and advertisements in a phone book and use it as a basis for your next piece of writing. Especially try finding ads and businesses that you know nothing about, like angioplasty.
Let's say you find a pet morgue and a fire station.
Maybe your character used to be a fire man, but received an injury and now works at a pet morgue. Why? That's up to you.
Or maybe there's a government conspiracy involving a shady person keeps walking down the alley between the fire station and the pet morgue...
